In the vast, sunny desert with tall palm trees and reddish hills, lived a cheerful camel named Clyde. Clyde was a beautiful orange color and had a very special feature: two big, round humps on his back. He always had a friendly smile on his face.
Clyde was proud of his humps. He knew they were not just for carrying things; they were like his own personal backpacks filled with energy and water, which helped him walk for days under the hot sun without getting tired.
One scorching hot afternoon, Clyde was walking across the sand when he heard a tiny, weak voice coming from behind a small bush. “Help! Is anyone there? I’m so thirsty!”
Clyde looked down and saw a little desert gecko. The gecko was very weary from the heat. “I can’t find any water,” the gecko whispered. “And my little legs are too tired to go on.”
Clyde smiled gently. He kneeled down slowly so he was closer to the ground. “Don’t worry, little friend,” Clyde said in a kind voice. “I have plenty of water stored in my humps! I can share some with you.”
Clyde carefully shared some of his precious water with the thirsty gecko. The little lizard drank it up and immediately felt much better.
”Oh, thank you, Clyde!” the gecko chirped. “Your humps are amazing! They saved me today.”
Clyde stood up, feeling happier than ever. He realized that his big, strong humps were not just for him; they were also a way to be a helper in the desert. From that day on, Clyde walked with even more pride, knowing he carried the gift of help on his back.
