In the deep, blue ocean, near colorful coral and purple rocks, lived a beautiful, bright pink jellyfish named Jilly. Jilly had a smooth bell-shaped body with lighter pink spots and long, trailing tentacles. She didn’t swim fast; she floated gently, pulsing softly through the water.
Jilly loved the feeling of floating but she was worried that her tentacles were too long and delicate. She always tried to keep them tucked close to her body.
One night, the ocean became very dark and stormy. The moon disappeared behind the clouds, and the water was murky. A group of little glowing fish were trying to find their way back to their home cave, but they couldn’t see anything.
”We are lost!” cried a tiny fish. “It’s too dark! We can’t see the path to the cave!”
Jilly heard their distressed cries. She knew she couldn’t move quickly like the fish, but she knew she had a unique gift: when she pulsed, her pink body gave off a beautiful, gentle light.
Taking a deep breath, Jilly unfolded her long, graceful tentacles and began to pulse her body softly. Pulse, pulse, pulse.
As she pulsed, her whole pink body glowed with a soft, warm, friendly light that shone brightly in the dark water. She started to float slowly towards the little fish.
”Follow me, little friends!” called Jilly in her gentle, bubbly voice. “I can be your light! Stay close to my glow.”
The little fish, relieved, swam right up next to Jilly. They followed her bright, pink light as she slowly and carefully led them through the dark rocks and back to their home cave. Jilly’s light was exactly what they needed!
When they reached the cave, the fish swam around Jilly in happiness. “Thank you, Jilly!” they cheered. “You lit up the path for us! Your light saved us from the dark!”
Jilly the Jellyfish felt a warmth that was brighter than her own glow. She realized that her delicate body and soft pulsing were not a weakness at all; they were her unique way of creating a guiding light for those who were lost. She was proud to be the bright, pink beacon of the deep sea.
