In a lush green forest, right at the edge of the tall pine trees and big blue mountains, lived a busy squirrel named Sammy. Sammy had bright orange fur, a very big bushy tail, and a pair of sparkling, curious eyes.
Sammy’s favorite place in the whole forest was an old, flat tree stump near a patch of red flowers. Every morning, he would sit there and look at the beautiful forest while planning his daily adventures.
One sunny morning, Sammy found something very special hidden under some leaves. It was a giant, golden-colored peanut! Sammy was so excited. He carried it to his favorite stump and held it tightly in his paws.
”This is the biggest peanut I have ever seen!” Sammy chirped. He was about to take a big bite when he saw his friend, Pip the yellow bird, looking very sad on a nearby branch.
”What’s wrong, Pip?” Sammy asked, still holding his treasure.
”I can’t find any seeds today, and I am very hungry,” Pip whispered sadly.
Sammy looked at his giant peanut and then at his hungry friend. He knew that sharing was more important than having a big snack all to himself. With a kind smile, Sammy cracked the giant peanut in half and gave the biggest piece to Pip.
”Here, Pip! Let’s share my magic peanut,” Sammy said happily.
They sat together—Sammy on his stump and Pip on the branch—enjoying their delicious meal. Sammy realized that his peanut was “magic” not because of its size, but because it was large enough to make two friends very happy. From that day on, Sammy the Squirrel was known as the kindest neighbor in the forest, always ready to share a snack on his favorite stump.
