High up in the rocky mountains, where the air is cool and a small blue stream flows through the valley, lived a very special llama named Lola. Lola was not like the other llamas; she had beautiful, soft pink fur, long ears that twitched when she was happy, and a very kind smile.

Lola loved her mountain home. She spent her days walking past the tall purple peaks and sniffing the pretty pink flowers that grew near the water. Because she was so bright and pink, everyone in the valley could see her from far away.

One cloudy afternoon, a group of travelers got lost in the rocky valley. The mountains were very tall and looked the same in every direction. The travelers were worried because the sun was starting to go down behind the peaks.

”We can’t find the way to the village!” one traveler cried. “The rocks are too high, and we are lost!”

Lola was standing on a sandy hill nearby. She saw the travelers and knew she had to help. She didn’t have a map, but she knew every stone and stream in these mountains.

Lola walked down to them and let out a gentle hum. “Follow me!” her kind eyes seemed to say.

She started to walk toward the village. Because her fur was so bright and pink, the travelers could easily see her even as the light began to fade. She was like a walking pink lantern leading them through the gray rocks and brown sand.

Lola led them safely past the steep cliffs and over the little stream until they saw the lights of the village. The travelers cheered and thanked her with pats on her soft pink neck.

”Thank you, Lola!” they said. “Your beautiful color was the only thing we could see. You are the best guide in the mountains!”

Lola felt very proud. She used to think being pink made her stand out too much, but now she realized it was her greatest gift. She was the Pink Protector of the mountains, always ready to show the way home.
