Once upon a time, in a bright green forest, lived a busy woodpecker named Woody. Woody loved to tap, tap, tap on the trees with his strong beak. He had a cool red patch on his head and a cozy home inside a tall, brown tree.

One sunny morning, Woody woke up feeling hungry. “Time for breakfast!” he chirped. He flew to his favorite tree, a big, sturdy one with lots of interesting bumps and lines. Tap, tap, tap went Woody’s beak. He was looking for tasty little insects hiding under the bark.

As he worked, he saw two bright red mushrooms with white spots growing near the bottom of the tree. “Hello, mushrooms!” he thought. “You look very pretty today.”

The sky above was a lovely blue, with fluffy white clouds drifting by like cotton balls. In the distance, Woody could see rolling green hills and another pointy green tree. It was a perfect day in the forest.

Woody kept tapping, happy to be doing what woodpeckers do best. He found a few yummy bugs, had a good meal, and then decided to rest his beak. He sat quietly on the side of the tree, enjoying the peaceful sounds of the forest. He knew he was a very lucky woodpecker to live in such a wonderful place.
