In a bright, sunny meadow with tall pine trees and gentle mountains in the distance, lived a very green and cheerful frog named Frankie. Frankie was a happy little frog with big, bright eyes and strong legs perfect for jumping. He lived near a small, calm pond and his favorite spot was a nice, flat, dry rock in the middle of the water.
One morning, Frankie hopped onto his rock to greet the sun, but something was missing. His rock felt a little wobbly! A strong rainstorm the night before had caused the water to move the rock, and now it wasn’t flat and comfortable anymore.
Frankie sighed. He loved his morning sunbathing ritual, but he couldn’t enjoy it on a wobbly rock. He needed a new, perfect log to sit on.
He started his search. He hopped all along the bank of the pond, looking for something long, flat, and secure. He passed by slippery stones and mossy patches, but nothing was just right.
He saw a large, fallen log half-hidden under a big tree. “Perfect!” he thought.
Frankie jumped onto the log. It was long and solid, but it was too shady. He couldn’t feel the warm sun on his skin!
He hopped off and kept looking. He found a small, round piece of wood floating in the water. He jumped onto it, but it spun around and around, making him dizzy. “Too fast!” he giggled, and hopped back to the bank.
Just as he was starting to feel tired, he saw a beautiful, straight log that had drifted right up to the shallow edge of the pond. It was sunny, it was flat, and it smelled like fresh wood.
Frankie took one last, mighty leap and landed right in the center of the log. It was perfect! It didn’t wobble, it didn’t spin, and the sun warmed his green skin just right.
Frankie stretched out, enjoying his new spot. He learned that day that sometimes, you have to try a few different things before you find the one thing that makes you the happiest. And when you finally find your perfect spot, it’s worth the whole jump!
