​In a peaceful forest with tall trees and quiet mountains, lived a little hedgehog named Pip. Pip had a round, gray nose, bright, friendly eyes, and a back full of soft, brown quills. Unlike other hedgehogs who were a little shy, Pip was very brave and loved to explore the forest floor.
​One sunny afternoon, as Pip was scuttling along a winding path, he heard a tiny, sad buzzing sound. He stopped and listened. The sound was coming from under a big, orange flower. He carefully peeked his nose under the petals and saw a tiny bumblebee with a broken wing.
​”Oh no!” thought Pip. “You can’t fly!”
​The little bee looked up at him, its antennae drooping. “I fell, and now I can’t get back to my hive,” it buzzed sadly. “My family will be so worried.”
​Pip’s heart felt heavy. He knew how important it was to be with your family. He had to help. He tried to think. His quills were too spiky to carry the bee. He couldn’t just leave it there.
​He looked around and saw a big, flat leaf. A plan sparked in his mind! He carefully nudged the leaf with his nose and pushed it towards the bee. The bee, whose name was Buzz, understood immediately. It carefully climbed onto the leaf.
​”Hold on tight, Buzz,” said Pip with determination.
​Pip carefully pushed the leaf along the path, his little legs moving quickly. It was a long journey. They passed by beautiful purple and orange flowers, and under the shade of big trees. The path was bumpy, and a few times, Pip had to use his nose to carefully lift the leaf over a rock or a twig.
​Finally, they reached the big, old oak tree where Buzz’s hive was. Buzz’s family was buzzing anxiously around the entrance. When they saw Pip and Buzz, they cheered happily. Buzz’s mother came out and gently nuzzled Pip’s nose.
